Nutritionist & Psychotherapist in Galway

Hello & thank you for your interest in Galway Nutrition & Therapy Clinic

After more than 25 years working as a registered dietitian with children and adults in hospitals and community health services across Ireland and the UK, I founded Galway Nutrition & Therapy Clinic in 2023. My ambition was to create a clinic providing the most up-to-date, science-based, practical, diet and lifestyle advice.

Experience:

I have experience in helping clients to improve their health through evidence - based recommendations. I understand that every person is unique, therefore I aim to provide individualised care to motivate my clients to make sustainable lifestyle changes.

Why work with Valerie?

Trust an expert

Dietitians complete a minimum of 4 years of undergraduate training, including a comprehensive clinical placement, before engaging with clients.

Upon graduation, dietitians have to register with CORU and complete a minimum of 30 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) annually. CPD supports dietitians in delivering the most up-to-date, science-based information to the clients they work with.

During their career dietitians work in a variety of clinical settings and complete further training and education. They are also bound by a code of professional conduct.

Evidence – based learning

With so much nutrition and health information available, navigating through it can be challenging. However, my work is grounded in the latest scientific research, supported by effective behavioral change strategies and techniques,

Over 25 years experience

With over 25 years of experience in NHS, HSE and community services, I've supported thousands of clients (working primarily with children and adults) to improve their health and well-being.

Based on my extensive experience and learning I aim to always keep things simple and give clarity around many of the health and nutrition myths we can be subjected to regularly.

Passionate about healthcare, I adopt a solution-focused, client-centered approach, emphasizing whole-body health and the integration of physical and mental well-being.

Counselling and Psychotherapy

As a trained Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I work in a client-centered, holistic way.

By integrating skills and knowledge from my psychotherapy training, I support clients in making desired changes for their health and well-being.

In my clinic, a safe, non-judgmental space, you can openly discuss your health concerns, ensuring the journey to a healthier you is both a comfortable and rewarding experience.
